Modest Sea Islamic Swimwear

I don't know about you but I find it hard to find a full cover bathing suit that is of course not only modest but stylish at the same time. There are a lot of Islamic swimwear companies out there selling similar products but a lot of them, while Islamic in terms of modesty, have quite missed the mark when it comes to looking stylish while doing so. I know the focus should be on being covered and that's it but I would be lying if I didn't say I wanted to look good while doing so. I can't help it; I'm a woman and one that likes pretty things - what I wear being no exception. Call it vanity, but there is no way I am hitting the beach or local pool in anything I feel ugly in, even if I am going to be spending the majority of the time half covered with water.

Style, like beauty,  is subjective and "in the eye of the beholder" as many people tend to say. For me, an all black simplistic burkini with subtle details is a million times better than something ghastly designed with a million ruffles and extra over-the-top add-ons to compensate for the lack of skin showing. Maybe my Western mentality is taking hold of me, but I tend to go for pieces that are designed with a European sense of style. After all, being a Muslim woman that lives in Australia I find I am already going to stand out on the beach for what I wear so I'd rather have a full cover bathing suit that blends in with a Western notion of style; be it on trend patterns, colours or traditional cuts (I like things loose while still maintaining a silhouette, not a baggy mess!).

Modest Sea (if you remember I have done a giveaway with them in the past) certainly cover all the aspects of design I require in a modest Islamic swimsuit. Their pieces are streamlined so they will never be tight or baggy (just nicely in the middle) and are on-trend when it comes to fashion.

They have an all black swimsuit that you can mix and match with a range of swim dresses as shown below or you can purchase a design that includes subtle detailing. These are my picks from the website in their full covering swimwear range (they also have plenty of non-hijab modest swimsuits if that's more your thing):

The mix and match sets to add a little fun to an otherwise plain swimsuit (I adore the middle one):

Full covering bathing suits in a chic European design with a nautical twist:
Plain black or colour detailed:
You can take a look at their whole range of full cover bathing suits here via their website. Which would you wear? I'd pick the Alex & Sabrina combo.
