Uber + Klein Fancy Dress Giveaway

Halloween isn't a thing we do in my family. Actually, to think of it I don't think I have ever had someone come to my door asking for treats before on All Hallow's Eve but I do know that this American tradition has been catching on in Australia over the last ten years to the point where lots of children's schools and even my daughter's daycare will have special dress up costume parties around the end of October as something fun for the kids to get excited about whilst getting them involved in some imaginary play. 

I used to love getting dressed up in my mum's clothing to pretend I was a fancy lady in her high heels, necklaces and her lipstick which I stole. One time my sister and I even pretended to be wolves under our willow tree and stuffed a leg each of mum's pantyhose with newspaper and tied it onto the back of our all black clothing as if we had a (rather stiff and lumpy) tail. I've even got a picture of it somewhere. Sadly we did not have a Bear Grylls moment and eat raw meat while howling under the moon, but there's always next time.

The chance to pretend you are someone else for a moment is magical when you are a child. In your imagination you could be anything and anyone that you wanted. I wish as adults we pretended a little bit more. It just seems to be all work and no play for us grown ups.
